LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER

LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER NWI is a well-crafted 90-minute journey of live readings and performances by local artists about various facets of motherhood—being a mom, having a mom, losing a mom, finding a mom, being or having a mother figure—as many interpretations on the theme of mothering as you can imagine. From hilarious and heartwarming, to emotionally intense and profound, LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER will make you both laugh and cry while it entertains, energizes, brings community together and leaves everyone feeling a little less alone and a little more understood. This show will appeal to both men and woman and is appropriate for any age group depending on comfortability to possible exposure to mature topics.

A LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER show features approximately a dozen original readings, poems, spoken word, songs, etc. performed live on-stage by local authors, poets, musicians, actors, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters….really anybody with something to say about motherhood.

This year’s show will take place on Sunday, April 28 at 3 pm at Hobart Art Theater, 230 Main St, Hobart, IN.  Our theme this year is “A Fabulous and Fierce Fiesta of Motherhood”, which will influence stage design, our Signature drink, photo booth backdrop, etc.

VIP tickets, which are $50, include early entry at 1 pm, seating directly in front of the stage, light appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages, and a swag bag.  Please email Carrie at 219writerscollective@gmail.com to arrange group seating.  There are just 50 of these tickets and they will sell quickly.

General admission tickets are $25.  General admission patrons may enter at 2 pm.

NO REFUNDS as this is a fund raiser.

Food will be available for purchase by Bub’s Bowls, Burritos, and Tacos food truck which will be located in front of the theater.

There will be a bottle pull of wine and spirits available for $10 per chance.

All proceeds will benefit Meals on Wheels Northwest Indiana.
